Description After a few months of lack of drawing due to work/costume making, I finally got a chance. I saw the new Thor movie and I was absolutely floored with how good it was. This was an idea that came to mind while I was struggling with some depression and honestly, I hated the sketch but I continued working at it. I decided I wanted to try out some art nouveau style with my own twist. I ended up with something I really enjoy.

The B rune (berkana : birch) symbolizes Frigga. Read more about it here: www.runestones.com/RuneMeaning…
The H rune (hagalaz : hail) symbolizes Loki. You can read more about the meaning of the rune here: www.runestones.com/RuneMeaning…

Very sweet and touching, but also heartbreaking as we know what happens.

The colored pencils on this one are so lovely! You blend them so gently into each other and bring out such great colors from paper that makes them stand out even more wonderfully. The composition reminds me stained glass, especially since Frigga seems to have a halo. Such neat details, too!

I haven't seen Thor 2 yet, but I've heard that it's pretty good. So you recommend it then?

Success! I was going for a stained glass look of sorts. Also throw in a bit of art nouveau and tada! I just love colored pencils on this paper stuff. It really comes out beautifully.

Let's just say I think it is the best Marvel movie to date, so do I recommend it? Yes just doesn't cover it.

It really does look fantastic. ^.^
Okay then. We'll just have to watch it sometime.

I also liked that we see Frigga use illusions like Loki does and that she never backs down from a fight (warrior queen FTW!). A friend also pointed out that in her fight scene on Asgard and Loki's fight scene on Svartalfheim, she and Loki use the same combat style... GYAH, FEELS!

Speaking of feels and Svartalfheim, how did you react when we all thought that Loki had *you-know-what* fighting the Kursed?

For those who read, there are spoilers here. Not that the drawing isn't one but uh, yeah.

Frigga is freakin BA. I like that they have her use illusions as well so we know where Loki gets it from. Which, of course, makes it all the more painful when you realize he was a momma's boy. In Norse mythology, it is said that Frigga can see into the future but she never tells anyone. If that was the case, did she know that her illusion to Loki would be the last time she saw him? This also means she would have known she'd have to sacrifice herself to save Jane (in turn save the universe). My theory is that she knew this and thus took the sword from the soldier and set up the trap. Not that I made that any more painful than it already was.

I am afraid I saw right through the illusion. Perhaps it is because I am quite mischievious myself that I'd know better than put myself in harm's way especially if I have tricks up my sleeve. This coming from someone who, at the age of 10, had one of the most elaborate and detailed idea of how to effectively rob a bank that their mother told her to never become a criminal because she'd be way too good at it. However, I thought it interesting that he set it up so that it put Thor's mind at rest. He had the chance to make that very painful for Thor but he did not. That is what I didn't see coming.

My brain kinda froze up when Loki got stabbed, I went into shock/denial for a bit... of course then the reveal at the end came. ^_^
You're right, I never thought about that, but Loki made it about as painless for Thor as possible.
They hate each other, they love each other, and they need each other. Brothers through and through.

I can't wait to see where the plot with Loki goes now! ^_^
I saw the movie for the second time last night. I went with my dad (who hadn't seen it yet). I did my best Loki-worthy laugh when the reveal at the end came.

I am interested in how that will turn out for sure or if it will go anywhere. I sure hope it does but we may have to wait until Thor 3.
Haha! Nice! I had gone to the midnight premier with a group of friends and we were all dressed up. I ended up as Loki (and little did they know I could actually play the part) in a group of Thor, Odin, Frigga, and Lady Sif. I sat next to our "Thor" whilst we watched. At the end of the movie, "Thor" turns to me and just whacks me in the arm nice and hard. My response, "Hey, we both got what we wanted so it's a win-win." He couldn't argue with that.

Tom said he isn't going to be in Age of Ultron, so we probably will have to wait for Thor 3. Ah well, the wait will only make the payoff more satisfying!

Bot Loki is NOT allowed to die on us again! I don't care if it's another fake death or a real one, NO MORE DEAD LOKI!

LOL, nice! I wish I had friends to cosplay to movies with.

What did Odin have to say after the movie? And did Frigga get any post-movie hugs?

ekormekolindo In reply to EragonJediGirl357 [2013-12-03 03:56:39 +0000 UTC]

If Loki dies again, it would probably be for real since his trick has already been used. Can't do the same one twice. Just doesn't work. But, you can't just up and kill him either. The universe (ok, more like fandom) won't let it happen.

I am sorry. I feel for those people who'd love to cosplay but just doesn't have anyone around them interested in it. I try to highly encourage it when I can. It is so much fun. A few people wanted our picture. Yes, I did photobomb one as well. I couldn't help myself. When you wear massive golden horns on your head, it is hard not to. Teehee. Odin gave me the stink eye and I buried my face in Frigga's arm. It's ok, she hugged me. Shhhh. That's what inspired this picture. Only those that read this comment (and my roommate AKA Frigga knows this).

They just can't kill him. THEY CAN'T.

If they do there will be a memorial for Loki posted on YouTube by me.

LOL at Odin and D'aww at you and Frigga. ^_^

I DID Loki-theme my clothes for the movie. Both times. The only difference was the second time I put my hair in a braid so it wouldn't get in the way of my scarf/cape.

Awesome! Do you have long hair? I have very thick hair which is getting decently long. I grow it out to get it all whacked off and donate it. However, my locks are a reddish-brown so I had a wig for my Loki costume. My natural color works wonders for Black Widow.

Yeah, I have thick hair that I've been growing out for years. It's ALMOST long enough to sit on now! My hair is my favorite thing about the way I look. ^_^

Awesome! My roommate (Frigga) has hair that long too and it is Frigga's color so it was perfect for her. She is the same way. Her hair is her pride and joy.

Nice! Mine's wavy and brown with little bits of gold in it. I had to braid it to go see the movie so it didn't mess with my scarf/cape. XD

My Avenger OC also wears her hair in a braid, so that helped. ^_^
