Description A piece inspired by one of my inspirations, Pieter Bruegel de Oude, a Netherlandic painter from the 16th century. This is the specific painting I based it off of zonnejaar.antrovista.com/pags/…
I love the characters he portrays and tried to kind of make my own version, you might recognize some of them. The story behind the painting is quite fascinating as well, and worth looking into if you're interested.
The characters were all drawn seperately on paper and finished off with watercolor, and so were the houses. The only digital aspect to this piece is the ground they stand on and the aquamarine sky.
This started off as an animation project, the characters have seperate arms and legs that were supposed to be able to move at some point. But I decided that I preferred it to be a stand still piece, like an actual painting.

I hope you guys enjoy it! Long time no see.

Long time not seen an update from you! I hope you are well! I'm happy to discover a new work that you have done. This painting is reall great though the characters look a bit more stiff than usual (but usually they are a bit elastic x)). I really love the houses and the general atmosphere that you have put here. It is interesting to see your interpretation of this painting (which is nice and funny, thank you for the discovery ^^).

Hey! Thank you!! I'm doing fine how about you? Yes the characters were supposed to be animated at some point, they were drawn with their heads and hands seperately thats why they look a bit stiff.
I'm glad you enjoyed discovering this artist, his work is truly phenomenal it's been a great inspiration to me

That' would have been amazing to see an animated version of your artwork! Maybe another time. ^^ I need to check more of the work of this artist, I really love the colours. It reminds me Middle Ages' paintings (though it is already the XVIth century).

I'm good thank you, glad to know that you're doing fine! ^^

The original painting is quite a sight! So much weird stuff happening! There isn't as many characters on yours, but the crazyness is even better XD
