Description
Among the fragments that came from the Elder God itself, was the Heart of Azoth. When Jason Bishop was stabbed through his heart with the Godslayer blade, he should have died then and there. However, as he lay dying, a stranger approached him with an offer. By taking the Heart of Azoth into his body, he would survive the Godslayer's cursed power and in turn gain even greater power of his own. While bound to its host, neither it nor it's host can be destroyed. Attacking the heart directly can, however disrupt it's power leaving the host vulnerable. Significant trauma can outright incapacitate the host, and to forcibly remove the heart will surely kill the host. Unfortunately, the heart itself carries its own curse. The heart itself is a sentient being that can only be awakened when it binds to a host. It feeds off the host's feelings of hatred, rage, pain, and despair. As it feeds, it's power grows and it seeks to possess the host. If the heart becomes too powerful, it will overtake it's host's body and seek to turn it into a living Avatar of Azoth. For Jason, the choice between death and becoming a host to a Eldritch horror was a no win situation...
