This is gorgeous! The colors are perfect and the background really gives the impression of the TARDIS traveling through time and space, nice work!

I know that you may get this a lot but I was wondering if you could share that pattern with me please? I have an American Sign Language teacher that just loves Doctor Who and she is one of the greatest people that i have ever met in this entire world and she is like a second mom to me. I want to make her a quilt and this is one of the nicest patterns that I have seen for a quilt and I think that she will absolutely love it. If you are willing to share your pattern can you please send it to thetabug99@yahoo.com. It would mean so much to me and her if you did.Β
Thank You~
Alexis P.

That's brilliant! Did you use a pattern? If so, where did you get it? It would be a great Christmas present!

I had the same idea! Only the fabric surrounding the TARDIS would be a fabric I saw with stars and planets.

This is wonderful! I am having a friend of mine work on a tardis quilt for my sister and her fiance' for a wedding gift. Do you mind if I ask what the dimensions were for the entire quilt and also the tardis itself? That would help the quilter a LOT. Thanks!

This is amazing!! I just had the idea for a TARDIS quilt and there are surprisingly few of them - and yours is pretty much the only one I like. I actually had a very similar design in my head when I rushed to the computer to google it.
I really love the textured fabric you chose for the main body of the TARDIS! Great work!!

I had a sort-of pattern. I found a lineart drawing of the Tardis and divided it into rectangles that I thought would work well for quilting, then scaled the dimensions up as I worked out from the interior. It wasn't very exact; for instance I made the windows before cutting the rest of the door panels, so that I could make the size of the panels match up to the windows, rather than making a patten for both beforehand. If I remember correctly, for the background I just drew out lines on a giant cardboard cutting mat. If you've done a lot of quilting, I'm sure you can come up with a more efficient method ... this is my second quilt and I was basically making stuff up as I went.

Thanks! It's filled with polar fleece rather than batting, which I think makes it more comfortable to use as a blanket.
