Sohan at the Burgundy Farms Grand Opening Show

The stallion snorted and huffed, impatient to be released from the confines of the dark trailer. A woman's soothing voice calmed him, and he sniffed curiously at her pockets as she clipped on his lead rope and led him down the ramp. A pair of curly red tipped ears perked forward, his nostrils flared, drinking in the familiar sights and sounds of the showgrounds.

Adriane led her charge over to the wash area to clean all the dirt accumulated from the journey from Sohan's coat. Keeping such a pale horse clean was a pain, but it was all worth it to see him gleaming under the arena lights. As usual, the boisterous stallion played and fidgeted, heedless of those around him. A few stable hands shot the pair glares as they avoided flailing limbs, and Adriane had to hide a secret grin. Seeing the stallion play like a yearling was still one of the funniest things she'd seen.

The morning of the competition arrived, and the dark haired woman was up bright and early, braiding the creamy stallion's extensive mane. It took forever, as she quickly discovered his mane was not only long, but thick as well, and she regretted the decision not to take along another member of the staff to the show.

The pair dodged between horses in the warm up arena, with Sohan reluctant to extend himself beneath her. He was far more concerned about the antics of the handfull of mares cantering around, but eventually he relaxed. Adriane felt like she was flying as Sohan cantered around with his gorgeous floating stride, pulling off some truly stunning flying changes across the arena. This was a nice easy warm up show for his more advanced competitions planned after his small break, and the woman knew he would handle it easily.
