I had submitted this earlier, but some weird dA tweaks. Sorry to those that saw it previously.

A quick concept for a Nolanverse Nightwing.

*SPOILERS*

I figured John Blake would skip the "Robin" persona entirely; if his legal name was Robin, and he ran around as a vigilante named Robin, I think people would catch on pretty quick.

My assumption is that John Blake wouldn't modify the Batsuit too much, considering he probably doesn't have the wealth or knowledge to do R&D on a new suit. Thus, the suit stays mostly intact, save for the modified Nightwing symbol. I also designed his mask to be more like goggles with lenses (Like Catwoman) instead of an open eyed domino mask, so that there would be room for functionality like night vision, thermal vision, infrared, binoculars, real-time HUD info etc. They also cover his ears to contain radio and surveillance technology.

Anyhow, this concept started out as a sketch to get a rough pose down. Once I had the pose, I made a basic photomanipulation by throwing together bits and pieces from several studio photos of the Bale TDK batsuit. Once I had the pose, I started to paint over the photos (they weren't huge, and had degraded with the manipulation) to help unify them (Paintovers are a common practice in concept design;In order to generate many ideas on deadline, many artists paint over photos or use stock reference or revisions to get different ideas out quickly). Painted in the Nightwing symbol as well as the mask. I also painted over a photo of Joseph Gordon-Levitt. No background because a) I'm lazy lol, b) I'm terrible at backgrounds, and c) that wasn't my focus for this.
