For me, G/S/C will always be the best ones as Silver was my first Pokemon game ever, and I also love their DS remakes, but my second favourite is actually 5th gen... But after years Kanto and Hoenn became almost as nostalgic as Johto for me~

Leafgreen was the only one I really got into, that and Emerald.
Hearing those old school beats now, mmm mmm mm... brings back good memories of when I spent hoursΒ and hoursΒ just playing and grinding my pokemon's levels up so I could completely decimate the gyms and Elite Four.

If you ask about programs, I use PaintToolSai for drawing and colouring, and Photoshop CS2 (it's now available for free on Adobe webpage) for final touches like slight colour edit and these little blue sparks. As for tools, I use Bamboo Pen tablet (and mechanical pencil and paper for initial sketches)

Thank you! I really wanted to experiment with such a dramatic lighting, I love it but I never know how to get it right... The same goes with poses, I want to learn to make them more dynamic~

Hmm... If you ask me, I'd (at least try to) make the lightning lines more pointy, more hard-edged... This is what first comes to my mind when I think about how to possibly improve the lightning ^^

I think I have to try and make lighting different depending on the kind of surface... Like, it can be softer on a Pokemon's fur, but it should be harder on other surfaces... Yeah, that's what I have to work on!

I was referring to the lightnings, as in, the flashes... Your lighting, as in, the opposite of shading, is very good in this picture!
Please tell me if I am the one misunderstanding something right now...
Anyway, what you wrote is something I also thought about sometimes... Well, before I think about how to shade fur, I first of all should learn how to give fur it's texture... Though, shading/lighting is one of the aspects giving fur it's texture, isn't it?
