Description
I finished the deer girl drawing (finally), i decided to make a background.. this is my first serious attempt at a background and i feel like it turned out pretty okay.The background took me about 1,5 hours so it didn't even take that long!
I also colored the antlers and the spear, after that i gave it some last color corrections and i was done
I really didn't feel like making the background so i was procrastinating, besides i also had some other things that had to be done before this so it's been a while but i finished it anyways.
All of it was done in Pixelmator, i used a reference for the background.
More mythological (figurative) creatures to come!

I took an ever stronger liking in this piece after looking at you step by step tutorial (don't know why, lol). I think your use of colours and shading/highlighting is just perfect, makes the picture really nice to look at. I also like the fact that you really considered how the real world looks like by lowering the opacity of the trees in the background. That's something I never would have thought of.

I really had to think about that, i noticed how in some reference pictures i had the trees in the back seemed to kind of fade so I thought that it might be best to lower the opacity on the trees in the back.. This artwork took me much longer than any would normally take me all because of those little details, things I hadn't done before like the background/trees and a deer/fur. Off course it's not perfect but I'm pretty satisfied with the overall outcome

Whoa, very nice job on the background! I like the way the light comes through. Would you mind linking me the reference? It really fits in well with the character, as it's also very sketchy and the colors match very well. I also like how you colored the antlers! I also see the tail is slightly ginger

It is kind of my style to show the original sketch.. i don't know why but i personally like it and more people around me comment on it in a positive manner so i think i'll keep that up.
