Incredible. Love the atmosphere and the sense of rage and war between the two ships. Many congratulations!

Nice use of Terragen again, especially the water (which I'm pretty sure is TG? ) and the sky (which I know is ) very dramatic lighting, the ships blend in really well

edlo In reply to Chromattix [2009-12-22 22:04:31 +0000 UTC]

Yup the sky, the water and ships all rendered in TG although the water was very disappointing after a 24 hour render, so heavy photoshop painting came into play there and also the sky presented artifacts and other strange dark triangles that needed fixing.
Besides that TG2 its in desperate need of a good 3d object loading reader, because I had to assign 92 bits of texture manually identifying the name on c4d and properly searching and placing it on TG, a very time consuming repetitive task.

Dark triangles, particularly on terrains happens in Vue sometimes too, I've spent many times editing those out myself I have a similar problem sometimes, I export C4D objects to Vue and they come in un-textured and given these really weird code-names (because I use the less common DXF format, my C4D has no OBJ export for some reason ) and yes, Sometimes I have an object with hundreds of parts and several materials and once brought into Vue I have to re-name and re-texture them all again, it can take a couple of hours at times

No obj export on c4d? that is weird

Pretty cool job and idea. The clouds shining through on the left side could use some more contrast to match the rest. Beside that it is a great piece of work.

Best wishes,

Crossing the T--a classic naval battle maneuver. I think the French frigate is going to win this battle.

The sneaky British Captain will break left with the wind behind him while the French reload, delivering a full force side blast then anything can happen
