I've been too afraid to attempt this... did you make it hollow? If so do you have any pointers? I think I'm going to use scrap clay and paint over it when I'm finished (I'll have to paint details anyways, and I always managed to dirty the clay). I'm terrified of ruining it, as it's my favorite show.

Hm, I've already started mine by using thick enough scrap clay to keep it up. The base seems sturdy enough with thick walls, and I'm just adding the doors and panels at this point. Do you think it would be too much of a bother to attemp to make the police public call box sign and up a top for it so it's a jar? I'm wondering if I'll wreck the whole thing that way

You know what this reminds me of... the Hartnell episode "Planet of Giants"

Well, aside from the fact that the model Tardis from those years looked about like that one, in Planet of the Giants, the Tardis and her crew materialize at the wrong scale, so the whole serial is spent with them struggling through an oversized backyard in what would otherwise be a very ordinary modern English home. Don't feel too bad about missing them. Trying to watch what is left of the first two Doctors can be quite a frustrating experience, with lots of missing or partial episodes and the rest showing signs of poor maintenance.

Yeah, all of the episodes from Pertwee (number 3) on are completely intact (with the exception of one Tom Baker episode that never finished filming and thus never aired in the first place). I personally grew up with late night PBS broadcasts of Pertwee and Tom Baker (3 and 4) so I have a strong prejudice for them, though I love the new stuff too. It was much later that I made the effort to hunt down and watch the original series pilot (and then what remains of Hartnell and Troughton). Ah well, if the mood ever strikes you, I believe the old stuff has been made officially available by now. And if you just want to get a sample of each, they've all done at least one Dalek episode, so you could just go through and watch those (though now that I say that, I think Troughton's is one of the missing episodes). Wikipedia has a handy page that lists all the DW episodes and which ones are missing, etc.

Wow, you're quite a long time fan!
I've myself been into this only 2 years or so. So I have nothing to compare new episodes to. What do you think of 11th? I have a feeling that he started off good, but the latest season had a kinda silly screenplay

Well, as you say, it depends on what you have to compare it to. Dr Who has had several stretches where things got very weird and even strayed from pure sci-fi into something a bit more fantasy... for example: it is canon that the Doctor is Merlin, that a still unreached future regeneration (the 13th) of the Doctor will try to go back and take over his 6th incarnation, the 2nd Doctor visited a universe entirely defined by literary history, that the integrity of physics is (at least partially) maintained by a secret order of mathematicians continuously performing "block transfer" (a fictional theory of maths) calculations... and so on. Of the new stuff, I think I like Tennant the most, and the Torchwood & Sarah Jane spin-offs turn crossovers were fun. I did enjoy the Smith episode written by Gaiman quite a bit too. I haven't gotten around to watching any of the latest season though, so I can't say about that really.
