Founded by their great grandfather in mainland China, he was exiled subsequent to being discovered by authorities, and spent the rest of his years in Southeast Asia restarting the business. Under his and eventually his son's rule and later his son's son's rule, their empire reached all over Southeast Asia and some neighboring countries. Their largest bases were in the Philippines and Indonesia, managed respectively by Coco and Moose's father and mother.

The Chua siblings studied in highly ranked private schools in the Philippines and relaxed in their mother's villas in Indonesia on holidays. Coco took her education rather seriously compared to her younger brother, who she nagged at constantly for not doing the same, even if their parents' savings could buy them into any school they wanted and then some. She resisted temptation of having an easy way to solve her problems, more out of her own pride than anything else.

Their father was focusing on teaching Coco the skills she'd need to inherit the company, like how to run a business, dictatorship leadership skills, how to deal with bad apples, and the like. Since Moose was more in touch with the soft side of life rather than the hardcore druglord side their father had encouraged, he hadn't got the same attention she did, making their mother's favoritism flare up as she was put off by the unfair treatment. She saw an equal amount of potential in Moose, and as a compromise, their father enrolled him in combat training.

The siblings lived relatively peacefully until their father passed from his gunshot wounds, following a shootout with a double-crosser in the cartel, resulting in Coco and Moose taking charge of the family business. Although their father left the company in Coco's capable hands, with their mother's favoritism and the business' patriarchal beliefs, they announced that Moose was in charge, when in reality, he was only the face of it, whilst Coco managed everything. She'd tell Moose to attend meetings with her assistant and bring his phone, giving him orders on what to do. His other assignments consisted of keeping subordinates in line and taking good care of any bad apples when Coco spotted them.

Coco fostered money laundering, corruption, and bribery to hinder any anti-drug efforts when they surfaced. Under her rule, the number of hectares used for opium poppy farming expanded %9, and they begun exporting to parts of Australia, East Asia, and more recently, Central America. These shipments were mainly trafficked by couriers from those countries and from the Philippines. Her violent and corrupt tactics ensured the cartel's success and secrecy, and guaranteed her family millions of dollars a month. The business bursted into prosperity under the siblings' care.

This system went on for three years, until Coco heard of a planned ambush on Moose and her associate during their meeting, by traitors who'd wanted control of the cartel. She ordered them to escape ahead of time, which she predicted would've gone well until Moose crashed the car trying to avoid a family of ducks in the road. Police showed up at her door with her brother and her assistant in their back seat, having traced the business back to her.

Their mother in Indonesia went into hiding as soon as she heard the news, and spends her time cleaning up her children's mess as they sit in Lucota prison.
