This picture makes no sense on quite a few levels, but whatever. Parts of it I like, parts of it just rub me the wrong way, but all in all I spent entirely too much time on it to not post it. Heheh. At least it was a learning experience, right? ^_^;I'd originally drawn this to wish people a Merry Christmas/Happy New Year, but obviously I failed at getting it finished in time for that. Oh well! I haven't finished a drawing in a while, so that was nice.
Don't ask me why his sleeve is ripped, or how he can conceivably stand that way, 'cause I have no idea.skdghalkd. the hand gave me fits and it still makes me want to flip a table.

I LOVE THIS... I love how the red is so bright and his skin is so pale XD The blue in his eyes really makes me satisfied with all the color used in the picture. It sort of brings it together for me in a contrasty sorta way. Definately faved!

You know, the red was not meant to be that bright. I drew/colored this on my laptop over Christmas break, and it was more of a darker, subdued shade. When I got back to my apartment and looked at it on my regular monitor, I was like 'HolyCRAPthat'sbright.'

My favorite parts are probably his hair, his eyes and his face. I love hair, how jet black it looks and how the highlights stand out so well. The eyes...the coloring on them looks so great. They have a really nice shine to them...Look very piercing, much more so than on the uncolored version. And the shading and lighting on his skin on his face, and the way you shaded to accentuate and flesh out features like his lips worked out very well.
I think his clothes look quite good. I like how you illustrated the weights of the fabrics through the folds, though I think the folds could stand to be a bit more refined. They aren't bad by any means, but a lot of the folds on his arm-glove thingy and the bottom half of his sweater look a little flat and don't really add a lot of dimension to the clothes.
All in all it is a great pic.
