This reminds me of Nine Inch Nails background artworks. Interesting stuff and use of materials/textures.Β

The writing you cab very faintly see in one of the strips makes it work very well.

Thanks , textures are fun but getting a composition is another story all together.

Thank you now that would have been a good title. I stink at finding titles.

I was also thinking of you and trying to remember when that show was, any news? Thanks so much for commenting I appreciate your input. That negative talk thing is a real pain and hard to stop.

Hints of corners. Railings. Nice counterpoint to the otherwise very organic surface.
That top band of sand (sand could be the name of a color or of a material) gives a wonderful sense of moving off into the distance.
Beautifully done, Diane.

I was afraid to put it up. I was looking at it last night and did that negative talk thing, a lot. I'm glad you like it. My big question, how do you pull a piece together so the eye moves and it isn't disjointed. I did use one of those glazes you sent , actually two of them.

Are you talking about this piece? Pulling it together?
If so, to me, the overall surface quality holds it together plus the staining or glazing quality of the colors.
That top band has a different rhythm but it's still part of the same song. I am not tempted to question the piece's own, internal logic.Β
Did you use the glazes straight or did you mix them with a medium of some sort?Β

Yes I was talking about this piece. I just wasn't sure. It used to be I could look at at a piece and think ok I think I like that but not lately . It could be my mood, your feedback really helps me see it in a different way.I used the glazes straight but also sprayed water on to mute and did a lot of wiping off. There is a full moon out there .

Ahhieee. Full moon. I try not to make any decisions about my art when there's a full moon.
