FINALLY! So, for anyone who doesn't fully know yet, I've watched my first anime in yearsΒ and said anime turned out to be Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid, and I'm so very glad it was. It was such a pleasant surprise and the show was heartwarming, sweet, and just downright wholesomeΒ with touches of bittersweetness to it, and just all around a very fun and feel-goods show to watch. 10/10 I highly recommend. I'm honestly pretty into the show and got caught up with the characters and the world they live in, so I did this!
I plan on doing headcanons and more art for the show and wanted to translate their designs in my style, if only so I could have a sorta-kinda ref to work with to keep the art somewhat consistent. It was a good exercise in design too, or at least a fun one! From left to right: Takiya, Fafnir, Lucoa, Tohru, Elma, Kobayashi, Riko, Shouta, and Kanna. Takiya's the only one I'm not entirely happy with and might go back and redraw him, but otherwise I'm overall pleased with how they all came out!

Cute.
What I find interesting though is that Tohru's wings in dragon form remind me of legendguard 's interlocking shoulders, specifically the shoulder arrangement of her pegacentaur while Lucoa's dragon form looks like a mix of a traditionalΒ amphithere and her dragon form in the manga.

One of my favorite animes, and in such an amazing style. But, there is one thing bugging me: Takiya isn't in his otaku mode. I'd love to see him with his super thick glasses and buck teeth. Or maybe you redrawing a scene from the anime in your style.Β

Misa Kobayashi's Dragon Maid is one of my favorites animes!! The characters i liked the most are Kanna and Fanfir! π i think Fafnir was so badass in the show!

I love this show EXCEPT for Lucoa'sΒ relationship with the little boy. That makes me super uncomfortable!

I thoughtΒ Lucoa and Shouta's interactions were pretty funny myself, and her callin' him "Shouta-baby" was cute.Β With the exception of the first interaction I kinda saw their relationship as siblings. o3o

You know I could definitely see your point of view. I might be a bit hesitant because of some animes portrayal of older women with younger boys. I'm always a bit freaked out by that but in so many ways this show has been amazing so I can concede that my worries are unfounded! I've missed a few episodes along the way so maybe I'm not getting the full picture! Have you watched the whole show?

I watched the entire show, yeah! If you have the time I recommend giving it a full watch. But yeah there is a gag of Shouta being flustered by Lucoa but she isn't actually trying to do so, and eventually he gets over it. They're referred to as siblings in the show at least once and from that point on that's basically how they interact even though they aren't shown as much. o3o

I haven't watched the anime, but I like your interpretations of the characters! It's nice to see diverse headcanons instead of the same cookie cutter designs. I remember this artist on Tumblr that had unique interpretations of the Harry Potter characters (loquaciousliterature.tumblr.co⦠) and I have to admit, I wasn't used to seeing different interpretations lol.

These designs are so good, Fafnir's probably my fave one. Only criticism would be regarding the size of Riko and Shouta's heads, which are slightly bigger than Kobayashi's head. I think they should be smaller, since they're kids.
