Tier 1 Commission for for his fanfic R ock the Carousel! For those of you who's followed me for a looong while, you might remember I did a Rockstar!AU where Twilight was a huge rockstar (and yes of course it the main pairing was RariTwi. I still ship the hell outta that ship ;w; ). Well, Chibi ran with the idea and developed it into one hellofa story, and if you have the time I highly recommend you take a read! <:The scene here is related to, but not necessarily in, a recent chapter of the story. I was tasked with depicting the strange place of limbo Celestia and Twilight's relationship has fallen into at this point: Twily's coming to terms about her perception of her mentor and whether or not the fault lies with Celestia... or herself. Fault for what? Mayhaps take a read of the story to find out, eh? ;3
Anyway to talk about the artwork itself; it took a little while to get a general pose and composition I liked well enough to move forward but once I found it, I think this piece really came together quite nicely. I'm happy with the result, especially the feel of the image. <:

They're so........ narrow for women. RIP 2 them if they have babies. They just don't seem very proportionate to the body, with female anatomy having hips almost as wide as the shoulders.

That's on purpose. The point isn't to make them look like they could bear children. That's not even in the brain when I draw.
The point here is to make them look like animals who learned how to walk on two feet.
Besides, not every single woman has wide hips because that doesn't even happen irl. Variety in body shape is where the fun is.

Gal with wide shoulders and no hips here to chime in and say thanks for portraying unique interesting body types!! Not all gals have big ass hips so it's refreshing to see small hipped gals in art. Especially quadrupeds who evolved to walk on two feet.

There's no need to thank me for that! I try to be diverse with the body types I draw because it feels natural; it's limiting to fall into one stereotype of a person's body and never stray from it especially with so many unique individuals out there. It's also hella fun and interesting x3

Gosh, I cannot thank you enough - the little details you wove into this pic (based just on my usual, vague wall-of-text rant) showcase nicely who is the real mastermind behind this AU, and I'll do my best to weave them into the fic. And that "VC" logo is absolutely BADASS.

This is so stunning. The expressions are gorgeous and evocative, and the lighting really sets the mood, even without any other scenery. I absolutely love your take on Celestia's hair, and the way you do unicorn tails.
