Earth-Hart β€” Human Darkness

Description I had down-loaded a UN report on Food & Water Security, and was reading it when I felt I needed a break. It's depressing what Man has done to his home, and is still doing it today.
I picked up the camera, placed it in front of the screen, and lent the lens on the keyboard. I wanted a shot of how I felt/looked after what I'd read. There are mixed emotions in the darkness, anger & sadness being the main two.

Nelsie has gone and done a Coffee painting of me. Please pay her a visit.

Unfortunately our Mother Earth is being mistreated along with many sentient beings that we share her with. It's very sad to see how we treat her and the other animals who belong here.
Our only hope is like minded people who fight to preserve old ways and every species we can.
Very imposing image btw!

Many of the 'old ways' were detrimental to the environment & wildlife, as well as those of us yet to come.
The Sciences have taught us much, especially, over the past century, about our Home, and how to live in it.
Sadly, some humans Homo sapiens fucitallusΒ don't care about the future, because they won't be
around then, all theyΒ want isΒ to be rich & powerful

Thanks a lot for the favour, Steve

I know how you feel. I feel disgust for our species when ever I read about the plight of rhinos in South Africa, destined to die to supply the demand of wealthy Vietnamese. Or the horrors a goose is subjected to living on a foie gras farm.

We are an intelligent species. Our role here is as stuarts of this planet. Not its destroyers.

Hi Will, I know how you feel. I get sent petitions
and things from a few different sites and a lot of
it is really sad, how we treat the planet and the
people and animals who live in it, but it helps to
know that a lot of the petitions I have signed
have helped make a difference!

On Wednesday I received a report from the European Environmental Agency, on natural habitat loss in the EU. It doesn't make nice reading.
I getΒ quite a fewΒ petitions every month, and sometimes, every week. Sadly, I cant help with donations these days.

Many thanks for the favour, m'deer

I am sure it doesn't Will. I keep hoping that
we will wise up one day. I know what you
mean about donations, I have had phone
calls about that too, but when I tell them
I can't do it as I support to many causes
they are fine about it and glad that I am
signing their petitions. Click to donate is a
good way to help good causes and it is free!

You are always welcome my dear Will

Beith said, the other day, that I should stop reading the reports as they bring me down, be it the warming of the seas around Antarctica, or the dust bowl that's likely to happen in your country, in the next few years. I know I personally can't do much, but it's seeing into the future that bothers me. OK, I won't be around when the shit really hits the fan, but my grandchildren will be.

We were the pinnacle of Creation but we abused our power. Nature is responding awesomely and someone is predicting the end of the world.

We think we're the pinnacle of creation because we put ourselves apart from the natural world, and the end of the world as we've known it IS coming.
