i cant believe i only did 1 drawing in the whole holidays!! i went 2 whole weeks without drawing!! thats a record..
so i bought new paper just to get me by while i waited to find some actual good stuff at a real art shop, so im still angry at it
i just had to draw something to keep me alive..time: 4 hours
used: 2b, tissue erasers (scented!! they smell so good!)

Aside from commenting on how beautiful this, along with pretty much every other project in your gallery is, i must say that your use of contrast and tonal work here is stunning.
Darks and lights are portrayed perfectly where the metal surfaces are concerned. And every other surface texture in this piece is done with excellent accuracy, from the hard, shiny surface of the teeth, to the moist, wet texture of the tongue, to the perfect balance between soft skin textures and exactly-done whiskers and hair.
It seems to me that you went searching for the most challenging reference image that you could possibly find to draw from, and then blew the concept away with your amazing skills! BRAVO!!

I really like the detail on the face and the piercings, but to me, it seems like the tongue is flat. I think it may be that the lip behind the tongue on the left isn't dark enough. It just doesn't pop like it should. It's probably one of those cases where the drawing itself looks better in real life than it does on the internet. That happens with my stuff too. Otherwise, I like the idea and find it's originality refreshing.

yeah? ok..thats alright, when converted to b&w there wasnt all that much detail over there to go by, but i guess you're right.

that's insane! the level of detail, each and every last hair drawn, unshaven beard, accurate shading, even that one ray of sun... so precise. you're really good. you even manage to draw a realistic tongue.. now that's something!
