You're right, Jo hardly ever shows what they're like when they're alone together. She's telling us that his relationship with Ginny is making him happy, but she's not showing it. She's telling us that the summer he spends at the Burrow at the start of the sixth book is where he really discovers her, but she's not showing it. I hate to admit it, but I can sometimes understand the Harry/Ginny skeptics. When they're not too hating on Ginny, that is.

I don't think the movie helped at all. They seemed totally insecure and awkward about the whole thing. It didn't feel like Harry and Ginny at all, what with all the "aww let me dab at your wounds and feed you food in the mouth". And the kiss in the books was like "omg you won the cup that's so awesome i'm just gonna go ahead and snog you right here", but in the movies it was just the same awkwardness with same stupid acoustic guitar playing in the background. Hated it.
And yes, why didn't they even show the part about Voldemort's mother. That was so interesting.

Yes it is! Glad we agree on that too! There's just so much attitude in the acting that it makes up for the fact that some of the writing feels kind of stupid, like the whole thing with Ron's jealousy, which was hardly about jealousy anymore!
