excellent work and funny easter egg, How many stock were used for composition?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

DylanPierpont In reply to MindTuber [2015-02-27 18:34:26 +0000 UTC]

Haha, glad you like it So I don't have an exact number of stocks, because many of them became merged in the .psd throughout the process. But this picture might give you a descent idea: i.imgur.com/LgtI1ye.jpg

I went back through the file and color coded each layer and painted a few additional parts that I remember using. The sky was entirely flattened but I went through 3-4 stocks on that part. And you can see the original plate here: i.imgur.com/cvkYeRE.jpg

Hope that helps!

No idea what to look for! XD
Google tells me that there is a County Arms Pub in London that looks oddly similar to this (though far from the same), at higharms park.

The building at the back says "Circa 1860", so either the shot is set around 1860 or the building/company (Sam Walker. The only Sam Walker company I could find is a clothing company started in 1970s) was established at that time.

The garbage bin on the side of the building looks oddly modern to me. I don't know, but around my town there are similar bins made out of plastic.

I have no idea if any of this is actually correct. XD Nevertheless, beautiful drawing.

Haha. I love the effort! But I didn't dig quite that deep into the time period for this egg.

Think about where you are and some of the changes that took place over the last year...If you really get stumped, I posted the answer in the description

Cheers!

Sweet! Glad it all came together in the end. I'm wondering if people would be interested in a tutorial or walk-through of some kind on these? The whole matte process is pretty different than your typical digital painting. And I'm still learning all the ins and outs of it, but there's a lot of tricks I've picked up along the way that might be helpful for some people.

Thoughts?

Thoughts? Uhm, YES! Who wouldnt want to see the process! I think it would really be interesting if you posted a tutorial or walk-through. I like to know how different artists work and put things together

DylanPierpont In reply to shellz-art [2015-02-24 00:27:45 +0000 UTC]

Sweet. It's been a while since I've done one. I could either do a printed tutorials like some of the ones here: dylanpierpont.deviantart.com/g… OR I could record video and do a narration on the next piece, since i didn't record this one. Decisions decisions.

Most likely going again for the most weird thing, but am loving the puddles, but overall am a fan of these kind of scenes anyway. You impress me everytime anew!
