Let's be honest, with the rate I'm going at posting stuff like this, the blank above will be occupied with "year" XD

At any rate, I said I would be tweaking Dixie's design, so here it is, and with new clothes! Firstly, I gave Dixie a mastectomy; no more boobies. The more I thought about it, the less sense it made for Dixie, who's a pokemon that's based heavily on a frog, to have breasts. So this is one change where we pretend it's always been like that (like Prof. Flitwick's appearance change in the third Harry Potter movie; Dumbledore changing actors made sense, Flitwick got a whole-ass makeover! And it was never addressed. It never made any sense to me, though there's probably a reasonable explanation behind it) I also tweaked how I drew her cheek dots, and they're a lot more manageable than how I drew them before.

But there are two changes that happened progressively. Firstly, she's not as chubby as she was before, which can be read as a mix of her being in her depressive state after her previous two pets left, and her making several changes to her lifestyle, like walking more, and not snacking as much. I decided to define her body-shape better, that being the pear-shape (which I think looks so cute on Dixie :3) The other change concerns her hands. If you look close, you can see a single white spot on the backs of her hands. Once I get permission to officially update Dixie's design, I'll be explaining that.

Now let's talk clothes. I liked Dixie's black T-shirt and jean shorts of yonder year, but I felt it was time for a change, which is why she, in-story, decided she would be upgrading her wardrobe. I have a couple of other clothing design ideas, but I wanted other people's input as well; especially those who are better fashion designers than me XD For her everyday/spring look, I just looked up good design choices for pear-shaped girls, one of which included a shirt with a scoop neck, or where the neck hole of the shirt is wider so it shows off the entire collar bone. And I found this cute shirt with the sleeves ending at the elbows www.talbots.com/sale/clearance… For pants, that was a bit trickier on my part, since a couple of websites recommended clothing, as a whole, with the intent of giving the illusion of slimming the hips and widening the torso. But for Dixie's character, and my vision, she would want to show off her hips. So I gave her simple shorts that ended just above the knees.

Colors were fun. I wanted to try out color theory (which I never entertained; I just used colors I liked XD) For Dixie, when I inverted her colors to get an idea for complimentary colors, blue became a sort of greenish-yellow, so I went for a warm, golden yellow as her top. And when finding triadic colors, the third color was red, but I didn't want her to look like upside-down Winnie the Pooh, so I muddied the red into a brownish-yellowish red.

Like I said, I have other clothing ideas; I want to keep and upgrade her winter sawsbuck-skin cloak, keep her green fishing waders, and I have an idea involving a baseball jersey, and something inspired by a large plaid shirt that I own (and am wearing; what can I say? Weather's cold, and it's soft and warm) BUT I also want other people's ideas and inputs. I'll be adding a link to a PSD, in Stash sta.sh/03sl0roclf7 , of this pic where Dixie is naked (like a Barbie doll ) and people will be able to use it to make clothes for her; kind of like one of those dress-up games, but you can draw whatever you think she'd look good in. Otherwise, link me pics of what you think is cute, and any adjustments or colors would benefit her.
