There's a hive-mind infecting the Faunus and it gets into Blake, seemingly causing her to "betray" the team while she was under its influence. She severely injured Ruby, ending her prospects of ever being an official hunter, basically ending Team RWBY. So Weiss was forced to inherit the Schnee Foundation upon her father's death and Ruby became an unlicensed Huntress. Yang decided to frame herself for Blake's crimes so that the Faunus community wouldn't suffer from one of their own apparently going insane and betraying her teammates. So we start Henceforward with Blake trying to find a way to cure herself and bring down the hive-mind that's infecting the Faunus community, Yang is an outlaw, Weiss is the head of the Schnee Foundation, and Ruby is Ruby.

i knew about what happened in the beginning of the story because i saw the prologue, but i didn't know about the hive-mind virus! that's actually kind of interesting! but why doesn't blake ask the rest of team rwby for help when she convinces them?

Blake doesn't think they'd listen to her. Ruby was in a coma initially, leaving Weiss and Yang, the former of whom is Ruby's girlfriend in the AU an the latter is the older sister. Ruby spends most of the story being the only one to believe there's something more to what happened with Blake, though Yang does come around on her own. The only one that's still not fully convinced of Blake's innocence is Weiss, but that's more out of "BLAKE STABBED MY WAIFU!" than anything else.
Oh, and Pyrrha was also taken over the hive-mind despite not being a faunus for reasons the characters are still trying to figure out. And the remaining members of Team JNPR were ordered by Ozpin to bring Blake in, putting them at odds with both Ruby AND Blake.
Team SSSN is Yang's outlaw gang, and Sun is currently watching over a Faunus rabbit child that's infected by the hive mind and trying to get information out of him.
Oobleck is currently studying any infected faunus he can get his hands on with Velvet as his lab assistant. No, I have no idea why they keep getting the Faunus portion of the cast involved considering the risk of infection.

huh........i don't see how this is a bad story really! (through having faunus work on a cure for the infected when they could be infected is a problem, i'm guessing there's a reason like "some faunus are immune to the infection but they can't pass it to others!" sort of thing!)
