Thank you! Yes I stretched it myself, that in itself took long enough!

Oh you are far more patient than I could ever be! I never learned how to stretch canvas just because I knew I'd never be able to spend the time on it....I can't even imagine stretching something that big!

I know! It is so tedious. I have to do it for many of my classes, but I avoid it as all costs. The worst was when I had to do a six footer, it took about 6 hours or more to build, stretch, and gesso.

So ethereal and beautiful, she certainly looks like a victorian ghost.

Got a Algerian workmate whose both parents are artists.
At some point, I too never heard of him.

This is so impressive online I can only imagine what it looks like in person. Great textured effect and detail. Almost as if she is frozen in time. Well done!

I did this in so many layers, I think that's why. I wanted her to be buried in all that stuff, sort of like a metaphor for a funeral shroud I think.

I like it. did you have an idea before you attacked the canvas, or did you kind of just "go with the flow"?

I had the idea and concept in my mind but I had no idea it would look like this. I went with the flow a lot, especially with the layers.

that's how i do all my work too, i can never plan out an entire piece, just the idea. i have to work off an idea until it looks right to me.
