I don't think you've went overboard with the shading. In fact, I adore how you've done the shading here. The colours you chose go extremely well with the character nor clash with his colours and it's just... So pleasing to look at imo.
The pose and expression are very nicely drawn too. You've definitely managed to portray the rudeness through them.
Just... The picture altogether is brilliant and the character looks amazing in your style aaa. Slightly long comment, woops.
