EDIT: Went in and retouched some things that were bothering me, namely the face/hair and sleeves. Also extended the picture and added her name, nooot sure if I like it or not, let me know what you think.Zatannaaaaa!~ Done entirely in Photoshop CS. If I remember correctly, the birds are a brush I downloaded from `adonihs so, thank you muchly.
Zatanna and all related characters and my soul belong to DC.

Two very enthusiastic thumbs up. I'm looking at the whole thing trying to find something that could have been done better, but if there is, I can't see it. I really like the lighting on her legs. And on her boobs... I mean, clothes. And all the little details. I'm a detail fiend. I love adding details. Funnest part.

if you don't mind, a small critique: i think you might want to put her sitting on something, i realize she could use her magic to levitate but even then you might want to put in some magical effects to indicate it. it's just she's in a sitting pose and, in my opinion anyway, it looks a little strange for her to not be sitting on anything. also you might want to give her a shadow on the floor.
i really liked your lineart sketch for this one, it might be interesting to see you try coloring under your lineart sometime, just to give it more of a traditional pen and ink comic book feel.
anyway this turned out really cool, great job!

I had considered both, her sitting on something and some glow around her to make it look as if she were levitating, but both just didn't look right. I figured we already get the picture that she is and can levitate so it's really unnecessary to ad anything else. It would just look crowded and take away from what I'm really wanting people to look at.
LOL shadow... I had no clue how to go about that, seeing as I have two/three different light sources. I figured that since they were coming from different directions, they'd cast light all around her (kind of like a spot light). But...meh, I'll play around with it some and see what I can do.
Haha, its just the style I decided to color this in. I wanted something semi-realistic. What I uploaded was just an unnaturally neat sketch. Lineart just takes up too much time and is often restricting. I find just going in and painting more fun to do and you also have more options. If you don't like the face, paint over/redo. If you don't like where you have the arm, move it. It's a lot easier to do without lineart. Not to mention you can add more details to a non-lineart piece without it looking somewhat ridiculous (with the way I color at least). I used to color only underneath the lines. They were a lot simpler to do and had less detail. They just weren't as fun ]:

Veeeerrrryyyy cool! The detail on her clothes are just in-freakin'-credible. The only thing I can find wrong is the hat looks a little two-dimensional. But everything else is just beautiful.

Oh, the picture is pretty dark and the shining glow of the birds brighten it nicely. And it looks like the back tail thingy wasn't changed at all! Well, that's okay
