This is amazing, very well done By the way, how long was the exposure time? Below, the camera data saysΒ 281/1 seconds, that's not possible, I'm puzzled.

Durdenyr In reply to The-Back-of-Beyond [2014-01-13 07:27:52 +0000 UTC]

281 like the EXIF says It is possible with filters only! ProStop or ND500...look it up

FYI, this weekend i did a 510 seconds exposure

Whoa! I had no idea that kind of Neutral Density filter existed I was only aware of ND8, ND4, etc…

Thanks for the information, I'm really looking forward to get one of those filters, I love long exposure photographs

I just checked out your 510 seconds long exposure, it's amazing

sensign [2014-01-12 15:18:57 +0000 UTC]

I'm really wondering, how do you get such sharp images with such a long exposure. 291 seconds, I read.
I often get blurry and noisy picture when I do that. Even though my ISO is low and aperture is around F/16.

What are your techniques, if I may ask?
Do you do much editing afterwards to get it like this?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Durdenyr In reply to sensign [2014-01-12 17:01:56 +0000 UTC]

Hi,

Β Thank you for your constructive comment

The description of this image refers to the technique i'm using...manual blending also called DRI.

To compose this photo i used different exposures...i rarely spend more than 1h for post-processing....

FYI: ISO 50 often creates more noise and flickering dots than expected specially on super long exposure like this one! This is actually taking most of my editing...i'm using differnts passes of Dfine 2 + view at 200/400% and track the noise/dots with clone stamp
