Description zipper of my pants

We usually ignore our zippers but it is a very useful object to our everyday life. And it's a beautiful object too.

Camera: Canon 450D
Date & Time taken: May 3, 2011 at 9:50:50 AM
Flash YN560: Zoom at 35
F stop: f/8
Focal length: 50mm
Exposure time: 1/10

The bokeh= a small piece of purple plastic sprayed with water the with speedlite behind it.
Taken beside the window with natural light and flash at the back of the purple plastic
To get the good detail I used tripod

It's pretty interesting, how the shot makes the zip look like a tower with a train track passing through it, rather like a toy city. There's a sense of childish (and I mean that in a positive way - the way a child sees things) amazement in how such a simple, ordinary thing acquires almost magical, fantastical properties. I liked the feelings it evoked in me.

This is so beautiful. It is obviously a still zipper, but for some reason I feel as though it's in motion and zipping as I stare at the image. To be able to capture such an ambigious position where the onlooker must really see the photo is truly wonderful and magical! Congrats!!
