Here's another piece of fanart for Ginga Nagareboshi Gin, with some characters from the show, and some of my OCs here. Here, I've drawn Gin, Cross, Ben and Hyena in a scene with my fan characters Katame (I've drawn him before, but I don't think I said I can imagine him as a part of this squadron ), Nazo the Pit Bull Terrier (yep, he's a pitbull ), and Hori the Malamute (thank you for all the votes on my poll about which breed Hori could be. ) By the way, this scene is set before the squadron came across Akatora, which is why Ben is looking at Nazo - as those of you who have seen the show will know that Ben becomes blinded later in the show. SORRY FOR SPOILERS, those of you who haven't seen the show.

Nazo was actually inspired by a certain character in Phoenix Wright: Trials and Tribulations - Luke Atmey. I don't know - for some reason, I was thinking about a sniffer dog character, and seen as Luke Atmey was a self-acclaimed Ace Detective, and Nazo is kind of like a detective - I could imagine Nazo acting like Luke Atmey. And plus, seen as Luke has a big nose, I made Nazo a dog breed with a larger snout than many other mutts. Nazo was a former sniffer dog for a police force, but actually ended up doing most of the police work with his sniffing prowess, and was beginning to become overworked. Becoming fed up with being used and abused by his owners, and just wanting to work at his own pace without being ordered about, he ran away one day. He came across Ben's squadron, who was on the search for reliable dogs to aid their hunt for the deadly demonic bear Akakabuto. Nazo, with his sensitive nose, was a sure candidate to sniff out any danger that the squadron should come across.
As is to be expected with a canine that has been on top of his league for most of his life, Nazo is a bit over-dramatic and flashy, and sometimes tends to make an exhibition of himself while going about his 'work'. Whenever any new comers come to the squadron, Nazo doesn't hesitate to sniff them - to 'catalogue' their scents, as he calls it. Nazo considers himself a gentleman, but the fact of the matter is, he is a bit showy and a tad of a snob at times. Many of the pack think that his odd little quirks of sniffing endlessly are a bit pointless and gratuitous at times, but Nazo is convinced that even the smallest investigation of his can be important.

Hori, on the other hand, is an expert digger, who is the one to call if the squadron needs to dig any tunnels or passageways. In fact, it figures that she is the expert digger, as she is nearly always dirty - her coat used to be snow white and her markings a much paler colour, but over the years of digging, she has become more and more grubby. The other dogs in the squadron joke that the dirt has become a part of her.... well, her former owner did use to be an excavator. She came from the same village that Katame says that he came from, and apparently, both of them were friends when they had owners.... but now, they don't seem AS friendly towards each other as they used to be back when they were puppies.... The dogs who were in the squadron have noticed this...
Hori is a bit sensitive when it comes to digging holes, and she hates having others 'breath down her neck' - other dogs need to back off when she's doing some digging, or they'll get an earful. However, if the squadron gets into a fight at all, she sees the need to dig more holes, and can even dig traps for any enemies the squadron come across.

Any suggestions as to improving personalities or any questions due to backstories will be welcome.

Anyway, in this picture, the pack here have just eaten the remains of a wild boar, but Nazo suspects that one dog in the pack ate more than they were meant to, being 'unfair' to the rest of the pack. So he's undergoing an investigation to determine the culprit.... And seen as Hyena is backing away nervously.... We can all assume who has done it...
