Part 13 of my Knightmare comic!

Our heroes have triumphed, so let's see what their reward is.

"Welcome, readers, to Knightmare.....
Rejoice, readers! To Treguard's delight, a NINTH team has trounced these catacombs, and have proved that the adventuring spirit is still alive and well...
Heroes to their immortal credit.... So let's just see how they did it....

From a land afar came Tinder and friends
There seemed no way of stopping them
And though vile Lucard tried and tried
Their bravery could not be denied

They stormed forward bravely, quite undismayed
Their quest? To make the chalice remade
Chased by Deinos in dungeons deep
Even the horrific LEVIATHAN they did defeat

And then they cast a secret spell
And all was over... All was well...

Smartly and bravely, this team has traversed
Lucard and the dungeon have come off WORST
A rare achievement indeed, the ninth winning team
61 have failed, but 9 have emerged supreme

This team deserves a noble reward
So let's see what they have been working towards...."

Tinder, Audrey, Watt and Winston stood outside the dungeon... The fresh air was even more exhilarating than they remembered... In a way, they were sad to leave, and strangely enough, the thrill of the challenge was some of the best fun they've ever had... And of course, as Treguard stood beside them, they could tell from his smile that he was happy for their success too....

'Tinder, Audrey, Watt and Winston.... Your names shall go on our roll of honour... For you have stayed true to your quest, and never faltered.... For a long time I have been waiting for the moment I could congratulate a team as brave and capable as you.... But thanks to your efforts, my spirits are lifted once more.... And of course, here is the reward you deserve...' Treguard lifted into his coat, and gave them each a small silver symbol each, a scroll, and of course, the chalice they had restored.... Wow, Audrey thought.... she knew one day that she and her friends would find a treasure to call their own, but she didn't think it would be THIS shiny!

As Treguard held out the last silver symbol, he told them, 'Here are the Silver Spurs of Squiredom as your reward - an ancient gift given to those in my time who have proven themselves with bravery, strength and intelligence... Which you have all proven yourselves to possess... and with it, a scroll each to commemorate your success... And of course, you deserve the chalice too.... Keep them... As a symbol of this noble quest... and your impressive prowess....'

Treguard held the Helmet of Justice and the knapsack in his claws, and Tinder gave him a thumbs up. Treguard grinned back. 'And thank you all... for reigniting my self-esteem and passion for adventuring.... Who knows, we may cross paths again someday.... I shall try my hardest to find a way into your world... Where many great quests surely await us all....'

The team waved goodbye to him, Watt also winking to him, Winston saluting to him, Audrey giving him a thumbs up, and Tinder trying to reach up for a high five.... Treguard looked at her in confusion, but then he realised what she meant. Chuckling, he bent down, and gave the fiery girl a high-five.

'See you around... Sir Treguard...' Tinder grinned. Treguard saluted the team, as he went his way, and as he walked away, he told them, 'Farewell! The symbols you have are small compared to your true reward... your accomplishments here.... May we meet again, and remember.... The only way is onward... There is no turning back....'

As Treguard walked on the path back towards his castle, Tinder and friends picked up their rewards, and all believed that they would most likely see Treguard again one day... And when they return home, they would make their friends aware of him and his challenge... So he would never be forgotten again....

They walked down the path towards the warm, rainbow laden skies.... And looked at the bright, blue horizon together as they all walked together.....

As a team, as true adventurers, and as champions.....
