Description

Not sure if this is a fitting time of year to upload this picture, but I thought that seen as we have a wife remembering her late husband involved, I thought it may be fitting for Valentine's Day.

The portrait here is a picture of Victor the Gengar, Vladimir the Gengar’s late father, along with his wife Velma and his son Vladimir as a Gastly. Even though Vladimir may be very cruel to his minions at times, and has many enemies who he hates even MORE, his family has been known to have close connections to each other – in fact, that is the reason why Vladimir is accepting of his mother being overly protective, and because his Crazy Cousin Waldo is family, even though he is pretty crazy, he still has some kind of acceptance of him, because he is part of the only family he has left.

Yes, I know it may sound like he's not as powerful a villain because I mention he has close affections for his family, but I just felt that it would be a bit more three-dimensional if he has some feeling for his relatives.

Also, Vladimir's family being known for being very close to each other but EXTREMELY bloodthirsty to their enemies is partly what was responsible for Victor's downfall... He was the leader of the Buster Ghosts at the time of the Second Buster Ghost Uprising - the second time the Buster Ghosts attempted to free their master Dante from his Keystone prison. All of his life, Victor had suffered from a series of maladies, and at the time of the uprising, he was pretty worse for wear, shown by his missing finger on his left hand, his battle scars, broken ear, being blind in one eye, and having a slight limp. However, despite his disabilities, he made up for in spirit what he lacked in physical strength, and persevered through his weaknesses and became one of the most respected leaders of the Buster Ghosts. Wearing a steel crown, shoulder-pads, a finger-knife to replace his missing finger, greaves and boots, and carrying a sword powered by one of the crystals the Buster Ghosts used to steal souls from their victims at deaths door, he was every sign a war hero to his comrades..... and a bloodthirsty warmonger to his enemies.

By the time of the uprising, he was showing signs of aging, but he had a wife and child, and swore to them that they would see him release their master from his prison with his own claws. His wife had not yet proved herself to Dante, and had not had the Servitude Spell cast on her as a consequence, but she had been training herself in combat, ready for whenever her husband needed her in battle. However, she was left to care for Victor's heir and son, Vladimir, at the time of the uprising, and prepared nourishment and aid for the troops.

At the time of battle, the leaders of the opposition of the Buster Ghosts, generals of the newly formed Curators of Virtue (remember them from Mind Over Matter? ), were known as the Shelton the Lucario, the then-leader of the Steel Soldiers and Lave the Typhlosion, a well-known ruins explorer - can you guess who they may be relatives of? Victor knew that Shelton had been training with Zoroarks, and had learned the secret of mixing his aura powers and dark auras to make himself stronger - as well as his son Bruno the Riolu being trained... and concocted a plan.....

Confronting Shelton, Victor, after attacking Bruno, tricked Shelton into giving in to the dark auras, and actually allowed himself to be fatally wounded by the angered Shelton. Using the powers in his sword to absorb his being into the ghostly crystal that it was composed of, Victor had planned to use Shelton as a vessel for his own being, so that his life could be prolonged, and he could live long enough to join his wife and child in witnessing Dante being released from his prison. Using his ghostly powers to impale Shelton with the crystal, Victor's being was absorbed into Shelton's soul, giving him a new, younger, stronger vessel, who had given in to dark powers, which suited Victor's fighting style well. However, Shelton's light aura remained behind, and was able to keep Victor's attention long enough for his wife Lave to intervene. Begging Lave to put an end to him, sacrificing himself to put an end to Victor and end the Second Buster Ghost Uprising, Shelton and Victor were both destroyed by Shelton's aura and Lave's attacks, ending the Second Buster Ghost Uprising - and due to the ongoing battle, preventing Dante from being released.

After the battle, after Lave left with her son Bruno, who requested to further his training with the Steel Soldiers in Hoenn (eventually leading to him meeting a certain Zoroark later in his life.... ), Velma and Vladimir, two of the lone survivors of the battle, along with Victor's lifelong friends, Polyp and Pylop the Frillishes (remember them? ), came across Victor's discarded trinkets.... his gauntlet and his cape. Believing she had failed her husband, Velma abandoned the life of the warrior, and settled down for a calmer life..... While Vladimir, enraged and grieved by his father's passing, swore that he would release Dante and wreak revenge upon those responsible for his father's passing..... But that is another story.....

Victor’s attacks were Dark Pulse, Shadow Ball, Ice Punch, Shadow Claw, Thunder, Toxic, Mean Look, Fire Punch, Counter, Hypnosis and Nightmare. If you have a look at his design and backstory,  you may be able to guess which TWO villains I loosely based him off - one from MLP:FiM and another from Kingdom Hearts....

Crazy.....

I thought it would be a nice way to make them more three-dimensional... And plus, I tried to make a reason why Vladimir's mother is so overprotective.

Vladimir: HEY, my father had encountered many battles in his lifetime.... If you took as many hits as he did, wouldn't YOU look worse for wear?!

I've been through a lot of battles to, fighting evil that is. Hey, I thought I saw your ugly mug in that demon's castle. Are you the inspiration to that ugly wall art? (I'm getting too cocky for my own good)

True. But then again, I never really understood why people dislike the designs of Stunfisk or Probopass.

In that little backstory I wrote, can you guess who the other characters I mentioned Victor fighting may be related to?

Sounds like they may be related to Tyson, and possibly Kindle.

I may have to draw/make in Word a family tree sometime. Would that be a good idea?
