I love your interpetation. Mothman is so varied in the reports and you seem to take an interesting take on it. The top one is da bomb. Well done!

I'm drawing a comic on Mothman... though he looks quite a bit differet from yours. I love cryptids, and I love drawing them in a humorous or realistic fashion...
...especially Mothman, even though when it comes down to it, I'm dead scared of him.

Cool! Can't wait to see your finished product. My depiction is inspired by a combination of Frank Frazetta's illustration for the cover of one of Keel's books (not the one where he's in a tree, with huge butterfly wings), some sketches from The Mothman Prophecies, and my own interpretations of the records based on eyewitness testimony. Much as I liked Prophecies, I was disappointed we never got a good look at the titular creature. Still, not that type of movie, I s'pose.

Haha, thanks! I felt the same way as you when I saw some other illustrations of it, which is exactly why I created this hybrid. Glad you like it!

Yeah, I guess you're probably right. It could have come off as a bit hokey.

It was grey in color and had feathered wings. Nice sketches tho. You got the low-set head right. Head was more human in appearance, but eyes spaced further apart. The Gere film was great, but the bridge disaster happened in the late 60's, NOT in present day as depicted in the film.

Thanks! To be honest, I wasn't trying to be all that faithful to eyewitness reports in my design. Yeah, I enjoyed the movie too, though I was hoping for a better look at the creature. It might have made the movie a bit hokey if it wasn't done right, though. Thanks for the comment!

Aww, Mothman looks adorable. Can I keep him? (And probably get all my clothes eaten).

Isn't that what every girl wants? A supernatural harbinger of doom of her very own?
