Today's woman of science is Michaela "Mike" Quinn from Dr. Quinn: Medicine Woman (1993). It was a pretty popular show in the '90s about a doctor in the post civil-war frontier. It's been a loooong time since I saw an episode (I was a kid), and I don't remember much about it, but it seems to have a lot of staying power for the people who watched it back in the day.
I'm kinda jealous of her doctor's bag, simple though it may be. For some reason those bags are super expensive, so mine is just a crappy purse from Wal-Mart that just so happened to have perfect pockets in which to stuff examination tools.

I really love her... when the TV show came out, I wanted to watch it, because, you know, a series about a woman who chose a difficult and unusual path... however, since my mother had the absolute control about the TV and decided it was "inappropriate" (to this day, I still don't know if it's because she thought I was too young or if she thought it would encourage me onto the path I was already on, meaning I wanted to study, have a cool job and not necessarily a family...)... I wasn't able to watch it at the time... 2 years ago, a TV channel that we have decided to play all the episodes on Saturdays after lunch... needless to say, I watched it all 
I hope you'll be able to have a bag as cool as hers soon
