Description It's been one month since I drew something unrelated to school work (well something what would be worth posting anyway), so here is blooming swamp fairy #2

I like the composition of this. I like how you allow a larger canvas with whitespace at the top apart from the petals falling down to the figure.

Well, okay, I'm not sure if I think they're falling or going up from her head. As far as how it directs your eyes, particularly when viewing this online where I have to scroll down on my tiny Netbook screen, the petals seem to be falling since they guide my eyes from the top of the pic down to the figure. So, there is a downward sense of motion in that respect. But, in the context of the content of the art, it seems like it could be read that they are coming up from her, since she's blooming and they could be sprouting up and out from her. It's interesting to think about.

I think the textures you used are interesting as well. The textures on her skin, and on the leaves and whatnot, are all kinda rough, which gives everything a very rustic and organic look and feel, which is very appropriate for a swamp fairy. I think it's neat how you convey her affinity to nature through a rougher, organic texture and feel, rather than through bright, perhaps unrealistically vibrant flowers, and yet she still has a very elegant and whimsical feel to her. I think it's neat how you can convey a sense of beauty like that without it being overtly "bright shiny colors."

I love her pose, figure, and expression. I'm not really sure what it is about the figure and pose here that I like so much, but something enthralls me. The shapes work together well, and maybe it's that it seems dynamic; she seems very alert. It's a fairly static pose, with her kneeling/sitting on the ground, but she looks like she's not just plopped down, but that she's raising most of her body up as she sits. Which, thinking about it, works well with the idea of her blooming, since she's not dropping in a sedentary sitting pose, but she's kinda raised up.

The face and expression communicate a lot of personality even though little is showing. The eye and the soft smile are what communicates a lot about her beauty and elegance to me.

Very pretty! : )

Thanks
Yes, the petals are supposed to be coming out the flower on her head, I know it doesn't make much sense but I wanted to repeat the same thing that was on the first swamp fairy picture [link] and I had an excuse to use this kind of format

Ooh, somehow I missed that first one, but it's great, too! Though, I like how in this one, she has a more elegant look and feel to her.

You're welcome. : )
