Part of it is. The foreground was done in Illustrator, but the grassy-looking stuff was rendered in Apophysis.

I'd have to say that most of my Apophysis adventures are pretty much all luck. I play with it until I see something that looks kind of cool and then I tweak it. I'd like to say there's a fair bit of skill involved, but I doubt it. If there is, it's hiding in somewhere in my subconscious.

no worries. That's the funny thing about art. As creators we try to imbue some kind of meaning into our work and then the viewer goes and wrecks it with their own ideas and thoughts. lol.

LMAO. Yep. That's why I tend to be as vague as possible when I describe things. Sometimes the unique interpretations of others are far more entertaining that the original concept.
