oh nice. based on japanese folklore? something about having to rid the water in the hole of its head to finish it off.

yes, they say the kappas get power from the water. when they leave the water they take a little in the hole on top of the head. it is said if you bow to a kappa he will bow back and lose his water allowing for a escape. the kappa pictured above is rude and does not bow. BEWARE
