Description
This is Cat and I's version of Balto's father, Ruslan. This character is quite old and I have not drawn him in sometime, his design changed from his previous version which can be seen here: [link]His name is no longer named Brutus, though this was changed almost a year ago. Obviously better colours and nice markings, he has a slightly lighter patch of fur that is on the tips of his back. Little more youthful and handsome, and all I can say is THANK GOD I improved.
Also I have two characters with this name, so sorry if their is slight confusion. The other Ruslan is VERY different, hehe.
Happily done with little, to no reference!

Yes the first episode is about Balto's past and is strictly about Aniu and Ruslan.

This looks really awesome, but just one question. How do you get it to look like it's from an animated movie like Balto? I've been trying to figure this out and have no clue how to do this(and I know I may sound like an idiot, but I really am stumped as to how it's done). If you could help that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, and great work!

Practice, study the style, I take into aspect a film's style when I draw character or fan-character's its just a lot of visual recognition.

Very cool! I'd say that looks just like balto's father. I like how you incooperated Balto's genes and like the muzzle shape and the matted fur to relate them.
