I never actually seen auroras in real life, except on TV of course.

I've always wanted to travel anywhere near the north or south poles, just to take a glimpse of these natural light shows.

That was a Nikon D100 with the Nikon 17-35/2.8 lens.

Just looked up your camera, very nice. I have several cameras Nikon N70 35mm, Nikon APS, Kodak Z1285 - 35-175mm eq, and my new camera GE X400 - Cost under $125.00 - 27-405mm eq. Want to get the Nikon D800 but $3,000.00 and up is a little pricy for me right now.

Forget the D800... get a used D3 for half the money and take far superior photos with it...
