Description Lesnik represents a forest spirit.
Basically on Old-Slovenian language ~les~ means ~forest~.
He is described as anthropomorphic being, usually with a head of some kind animal with horns, usually dressed in fur, and with hooves.
He is protector of wild animals and forests, but he sometimes helps shepherds in keeping their cattle.
By a folklore tales, Lesnik lived in every bigger forest, in large caves covered with furs. He was very skilled in playing flute, but he had a nasty habit in stealing beautiful women and taking them in his cave, making them dance for him(and who knows what else )
His pet was a bear and he was almost always with him.

U do that Slovenians have great mythology. Many characters and stories known today became from that mythology, and only few people knows that.

There are a lot of similarities, not only with this character.
Baba Yaga, for example, was widely accepted in Europe.
Legends i write about here comes from the lands of Balkan in about 5th and 6th centuries, with arrival of South Slavs people from North, but legends itself are as old as civilisation of those people.

this is ur the best work!!! i love it. Bg is perfect, bears' fur looks so softly.Lesnik posture is domineering, his animal part of body is not from ordinary horse but from deer and this is so cool. Everything on this picture is amazing and magic!!
