Commission for of her REALLY interesting character, Io.I'm not quite satisfied with the background. I attempted to convey Io's ability to control waves, buuuut that didn't turn out too well. I probably should have gone with something more organized looking. ;3;
ANYWAY. Done with acrylics, some goache, microns, and iridescent paint. :3

That really is such a unique character design! What I like that you did to the character is that the way its body is drawn it feels like it is being pushed up in the air especially because of the face and the way the eyes, the mouth and the ears are being pulled back against the current/ wind. It's shading is really good, it makes it feel more metallic than like fur which is an interesting contrast to the idea that the creature is light enough to float! The one thing I would do to make this piece come together a little more, is try to bring possibly some of the wisps over the creature just so that it feels like it is more "in" the piece than "on" the piece. I know you did each part separately and then pasted the creature on the background, which works on well for keeping detail... but pushing it into the background a little more will definitely bring the whole piece together.

Sometimes it takes an outsider to point things out... I get told things about my pieces I never would have thought about fixing, or altering or adding if it hadn't been pointed out to me. But, that's why we have critiques

Thanks! I tried my best to keep in tune with the characters abilities. Io, in particular has the ability to control any form of wave: sound, light, radiation, radio, water, etc.

Floating Io is floating! Lovely and I like the smoothness of the wisps.
The only thing I would do is to try and cut Io out completely. I know it can be a bugger sometimes, especially with all of them fine details but it will be worth it!
