I like the idea of it and the typing fits it, but what is preventing me from evolve a Cubone into a Standard Marowak during the Day time?

Also the reason for the type change is dumb, grass types are pretty mellow, but in order to get the upper hand on them you change your type, which not only give you more weakness, but still leaves you weak to water types... and you live on an island

Plus it has the same base stats as the Standard Marowak even though they are lighter and have a thinner bone.
