Tis the season to be jolly!
Tyler Raymore, just the jolly joy candidate to come dashing through the snow for a one-horse open show! Over the field, they go. Lots of speed and little whoa. Making spirits bright, as the pair took off in flight!
As if Ty was applying for the role of a reindeer, he launched into the air, eyes filled with fear. He didn't have to glance down to realize his jingle bells were about to ring. Santa's sack came plummeting back down and try as he might, no amount of magic was going to fix that chimney tonight.
Visions of sugar plum fairies danced his head, while children covered their ears from what he said. As the audience had a chatter about what was the matter, onward Ty sped.
Tis the season to be jolly even through one's embarrassing folly.

Coming out of the arena was more of a hobble for Ty but, he had miraculously stayed on. Certainly, not a prime ride but at least Risky stayed on all four feet this time! And they said he'd need caulks on her shoes. Psht! Ty was rather proud of surviving his flight! Like a badge of honor! And he was proud of a familiar face; Chris Burton ! He saw him riding his old horse again! Dave had been trying to get those two back together for years! He wanted to go poke his nose in and see how he felt! They did well!
He stopped short, hearing a hushed conversation. Chris had said something sarcastic about being some kind of role model, that he couldn't mess up or something. It was hard to hear. But hearing Dave's cold response to follow made Ty's eyebrows jump with surprise. Chris? A disappointment? Wow. What parent said that to their kid's face?
He peeked around after it had gone silent. He saw Dave walking off and slowly approached Chris. “Hey, Chris, you okay?” Ty put a hand on Chris's shoulder. He was all hunched over near his horses' stalls. Ty must have overheard correctly if Chris looked upset. His dad really came down on him hard.
Chris sniffed, shrugging his shoulder, quickly recovering himself especially around an idiot like Ty Raymore. He pulled his coat tighter, “Yea, just a cold.”
Ty’s friendly grin went lopsided. A cold? Such a tough guy cover-up for red, watery eyes and sniffles. A quick glance down the aisle as Dave exited the barn, “Dude, you sure? Your dad sounded a bit uh…"
Ty knew the Burtons from when he was a young rider. They were good people as far as he could tell. He thought picking a rivalry with Dave would be fun, knowing his previous jumping streak before he got all uptight and stodgy about it. But that meant sitting through many speeches about how magnificent and wonderful his children were. Dad talk. And he did notice Dave talk less and less about Chris these days. That was the first time he had heard Dave ever say anything so...brutal. Something about being a disappointment? It made him wonder what was really going on behind the scenes.
Ty forced a smile, trying to lighten the mood, "Well, I think you did great in both your classes! I'm not disappointed in my lil' bro!" Ty glommed onto Chris, pestering him with a goofy hug, ruffling his hair. "What a strong boy! You want some chicken noodle soup to cure you right up?! All that ails you, no matter what that mean old cranky fart said!"
Chris slipped out of Ty's clutches, shivering from the discomfort. "Ty, don't make me finish what your horse started."
Ty crumpled, holding a hand on the very tender inner thigh from his crash landing into an unforgiving saddle. "She didn't mean it…" he wheezed.
Chris chuckled, "That's because she's hardly fit to finish her job. I'll get it done right the first time," he laughed which turned into a few more coughs.
"Heeey, she's awesome," Ty defended his poor horse. Sure, she wasn't as pretty as the others but she could jump just as well as them! Most days! As Chris started grabbing up his tack to put away, Ty prodded for more, "Hey, so what finally got you back on your old horse? Been a while, hasn't it?"
The corner of Chris's smirk twitched. He had a whole closet full of emotions over it where he kept the rest of the skeletons. He chose carefully which one to pull out to wear. He shrugged a little, "Thought it'd be fun."
Ty smiled, feeling happy for Chris. The kid came off as uptight most of the times but, Ty knew there had to be some little ray of sunshine in there! At least, according to his dad… "Aaaand? Was it?"
Chris stopped short, almost turning a glare to Ty but simmered to his signature uncaring stare. "Not in the slightest," he said flatly.
Ty's shoulders slumped, watching Chris carry his things off. He looked back in the direction Dave had gone and then at Chris again. Why was it that Ty felt like he was standing in some kind of cold canyon? He shivered and rubbed his arms. Maybe he was catching that "cold" from Chris...

Let me take you on a journey of wtf this thing is and why it exists xD

So. I was working on "real" entries. But had a funny thought cross my mind while browsing some rather unfortunate jumping. And thought of the "No Nut November" challenge immediately xD (in a completely different sense to what it really means but stick with me, okay xD)
So that meant...I had to get this done...in November or its just not as funny! So that meant shoving my other entries to the side for a hot minute while I scribbled this thing to life.
I originally wasn't even going to shade it and hardly put a background on it (which I mean...it hardly is at this point too lmao). But then I found a fun brush in my pile. And away I went~ Brushing away~ I never changed it from that brush and just had some fun for my little idea~ I wanted it to have a "postcard" vibe <3

And then I realized I could use it for my dramas I'm brewing at the Pemberley show~
BUT, how I have them typed for each entry was totally out of order! And then adding another one meant...yes...

MEANS I HAVE TO TELL THIS STORY FROM THE END TO THE BEGINNING.

So there's gonna be things that allude to something that happened already that we don't know about yet~ There's gonna be little tidbits in there to spark an idea~ There's gonna be mystery that will all be resolved when the final entry goes up! So hang on to your britches! And helmets! And sit deep! We're going for a ride~
