The feelings I have for this story are more than you can imagine, so I don't understand why I came up with this until now...

Did you get the chance to read the sequel to the Last Unicorn? I think that when King Lir died, one could say that he might have been reincarnated as a Unicorn and he's with his true love, Amalthea. I think that the reason why the Unicron never ask to be turned back into a human after defeating the Red Bull because she felt ashamed that she lied to him about who she really was and felt that he would not accept her as a result. I think that the author never really cared about his characters in particular. He only wanted to tell his story and move on to other things. Imagine if Disney had gotten the rights to make the film? They would have certainly create an alternate ending to it by making Amalthea a human once more and marry her off to Prince Lir.Β

Imagine how the movie might have turned out if the Unicorn not only defeated the Red Bull, but returns to beingΒ Lady Amalthea once again and married Prince Lir, thus becoming QueenΒ AmaltheaΒ by marriage to King Lir. That might have made for a very good ending, like Disney's Beauty and the Beast. It might have been interesting to see the author of the story make the Unicorn asΒ Β Lady Amalthea so that she and Prince Lir would be the guardians of the Unicorns, which might have made for a satisfactory ending, in my opinion.Β

omg yes! that would have been so absolutely adorable, a beautiful "and they lived happily ever after" ending everyone could love :3, I kinda love the drama of the original story but it brakes the heart every time you think about it and in the book I think it's even worst (cause they didn't even kiss there you know! D'x), but anyway there fanart and fanfiction to make up for it always!!

Thank you! and yeah about the name it's confusing since I read a spanish pdf version of the book, and his name there was Lir, but I know you can also found it as Lear...I don't know exactly how it is spelled but if you google it you'll find much more results as Lir
