This dragon is at home in frigid waters and in the icy winds with equal ease.This was my Christmas card for 2005. Some of them I printed on a metallic greeting card paper and the colors need to be very brilliant to show up well on this media, as the metallic stock tends to dull it slightly. So I boosted the blues and cyans here quite a bit.
This is, like many of my dragon illustrations, drawn with micron pens, scanned in and colored in Photoshop, then I used some of my digital photos as the backdrop. This one uses ice and dew.

The thing that gets at me is the change in background color, the green vs the overall blue. If the green were blue... maybe it wouldn't bug me. I like it though, great job.

Thanks. Yeah sometimes teals and blues don't always work in conjunction together. Perhaps if the entire background had been the cobalt color.

Thanks... normally I wouldn't have the background as bright as this, it's really because I am overcompensating for how I knew it would print.
