Thankies, I'm glad you like it! All I did for her hair was put down the base color then the highlights then I chose two colors for shading and two for the shimmer and then I scribbled away XD

I was using Manga studios at the time and they are all "preset" you can't really do much with the brushes there so just normal I guess.
Although now that I'm using Photoshop, I would say that you should play around with opacity and gradients, I also like to use a Hue saturation layer for more "base" shading and highlighting, I hear that Gimp still has good brush settings I don't know what program you use though.
