Well, what with all the DP yinyangs all over the place, I've made one too!

This was a little complicated, of course. First I had to deal with the actual symbol of the yinyang. I got the outline down (yey for compasses), but I still think the inside of it is a little messed up. Danny was harder, what with the sides of him fading into his ghost forms. The coloring was difficult too, cuz I had to deal with gradients and shading. Though for my first time doing gradients, it looks very nice, don't you think?

And now for the philosophical stuff you need to know in order to understand this picture. What, you didn't think I was gonna let that go, now did you?

This is based of "Magnified Reflection" by ~Obi-quiet . Admittedly, I can't explain the picture very clearly without giving away spoilers, so forgive me, but at least you understand!

Basically, in the story, Danny gets a pair of wrist guards. After he puts them on, when he goes ghost, he turns into Evil Danny instead of his regular ghost form. The basic theory is that his evil side was always there, but the wrist guards just activated it and made it surface. And even after those wrist guards are destroyed, he can still feel his evil side within him. Like I said, the evilness was always there; the wrist guards just magnified it , gave it enough strength to take over the good, and brought it to the surface, hence the title, "Magnified Reflection." Make sense so far? Good. More's coming.

On to the actual yinyang symbol. It symbolizes two opposite sides of anything in the universe (aggressive-passive, hot-cold, sky-earth, water-fire, et cetera et cetera), which must be kept balanced in order for there to be peace. If any imbalance occurs, well.. um, something not good happens, I guess. Eastern beliefs also say that each of us has this balance in our bodies, and too much of one energy is the cause of illness. And that's where acupuncture comes from. Never mind. Point: Danny now has these two sides within him (wait a minute, he always did in the first place, didn't he?), and he has to keep both of them under control in order to live. If either one was destroyed, chaos would surely occur. Or at the very least, he'd end up sick and/or insane. So no trying to get rid Evil Phantom, or bad things will happen to you. Le pauvre. Are you still here? Good.

And also, the dots in the sections of the yinyang. Does anybody pay any attention to those? Does anyone know what they mean? Okay, then, I'll tell you. It's said that at the peak of yin energy, the seed of yang is born, and vice versa. That's why in Chinese astrology, years alternate between yin and yang. When a yang year ends, a yin year begins.. *cough* Getting off topic again... So.. when DannyP is at the peak of his energy, some of the badder traits come out? << I'm not exactly sure on this point, so I'll leave you dudes to figure this out on your own. But I'll give you a hint: Reign Storm. I'm not very sure about the vice versa of it, but hey.

Also, the dots symbolize another point in the story. "In every good person, there's a little bit of evil, and in every evil person, there is a little bit of good." You can't be toooootally evil or good. It's just impossible, and besides, doesn't make for a very good personality. So, I guess DannyP can be a little mean sometimes, and sometimes Evil Dan's a pretty nice guy to hang around (not that he'd ever admit it ). But keep in mind. "A little bit."

Well, thank Ra for you, that's it. I hope you didn't get lost along the way. And I hope Obi-sama shall forgive me for spoiling her awesome story. You can find all those tidbits where I got my theory from in "Magnified Reflection," but I'm not telling you where, so you'll have to search for them on your own... which means reading the entire story! But seriously, it's very good, and much more interesting than reading a bunch of philosophical junk from a teenage girl. Yeah, I sound like I'm advertising here, but I wanna make sure that dear Obi-sama gets the credit she deserves. You rock, Obi!
