Description It didn't actually take me three weeks to finish this...I just worked on it during weekend-nights over the span of three weeks, thus three weekends = 6 nights....

As plain as this car looks, it was actually a bitch and a half to make. mainly because the blueprints weren't entirely to scale and they were different from any reference photos I had...but I went with the reference photos more than the blueprints...

But yea, feel free to comment on any thing I did wrong, or something to help with the render...

oh, and I set the samples for the something to 5000 (normally 1000) 'cause I was tired and I figured I might as well let it render throughout the night...so yea...

Ignore the whitecard reflection out there...or whatever it is...

3DS Max 6, no postwork...though there should be, probably.

Beautiful.

I'm learning 3D Max right now, about to start modeling some of my designs in 3d, so I was wondering what technique do you use for modeling? NURBS? Patch grids? Thanks in advance.

I don't know exactly what method it is, but I start off with one small plane, then expand it and form the shape of the body, and do the details from there. Then use a smooth modifier...I learned it from the Audi A3 tutorial that you can find at 3D-Palace , if you're interested.

That is stunning. No other words can describe it, really. One little point though - although it looks the spit and image of any new Audi concept you'd care to mention, they're more towards blues rather than greens of late. Don't get me wrong - it is an utterly beautiful piece to behold, and I would pay good money to have that on my wall- that's the only thing that sprung out at me

Wow, thank you!

From what I think I understand from what you said about blues/greens, the little dealie under the headlight was originally blue, but my brother gave me the idea to make it green to make it look cooler... *shrugs* But thanks for your insight!

Beautifull!! I tried making this very car (or at least I think it was this car. It was the car from I, Robot) But I had the same problem. All my reference pics didn't match up or anything. I think I still have that somewhere half done. Great Job!!

Thank you very much

And yea, it was pretty annoying because I wasn't sure which way was the proper way to do it, so I went sort of in the middle...
