Hey, it's about the same as worshiping any god ... I guess. Set is just a bit less popular than some of the other more obvious beliefs ... which doesn't make it any less (or more) valid.

Oh wow that's very nice. Good idea to use the pig brain for texture. The skull looks great too. Definitely works with Set's unusual facial structure.

I'm looking up at most these people who say Set's their favorite Egyptian God and I'm wondering if they really know very much about him. Considering he's a important god in my religion, I personally find it a very wonderful rendition of Him. He's definitly creepy, but doesn;t look like a horrible monster. It's awesome.
Though His eyes are a wee bit creepy....

Creepy stuff! Good choice of source imagery. I like the striking contrast between the light and dark tones in this image. I think one way you could improve on this though is to draw him doing something rather than painting him as a profile staring straight ahead. Could just be my personal preference but it seems like a lot of people draw deities and mythical creatures in this kind of composition and it could be more intriguing to do something different.

I think it would be interesting drawing him doing something but because this is a religious icon ... it was done in the same way as all the great religious figures ... which is, that he is standing in a ceremonious pose. You'll see that most religious icons have a pose or gesture that have some form of symbolic meaning. Like Christ on the Cross, Mother Mary or Buddha.
I understand what you mean by it being more intriguing though.
