Description I hardly need to abstract things, for each object is unreal enough already.

hey there

as I allready said, the face that comes out of the picture on the second look (at least I only saw it then) looks really nice, also i think the colors are really good - as warm as the face, and the trees build up a nose, what is quite funny ^^.
The only thing I don´t like about the picture is that the it is a square, I think it takes away the effect a bit.
But I don´t know the rest of the picture, maybe you had a reason to get rid of it ^^

but anyway, great picture, it´s fun looking at it and I like the effect it has on me (actually it brightens up my mood)

Thank you very much for taking the time to write this critique.

Actually, my intention wasn't to capture the "face" on the wall in first line - it was more by chance. And I always take my photos in square format (fortunately my camera offers me this feature). The building wasn't much wider anyway.

Still glad that you like it, thanks again!

you´re welcome

many very good pics happen by chance ^^ well, most of my better pics do

I don´t really understand your favour for the square format (I prefer rectangle forms) but if there wasn´t much more building to be captured I guess it was better that way ^^

oh this building closed the eyes. It's sleeping awhile... a night for it may take 100 years .

The city of Kassel was bombed and almost completely destroyed during WW II - maybe this house is still sleeping because it's trying to forget.

So many barriers - little trees, then a fence, then bricked-up windows. The image says, "no no no!" but with a certain beauty at the same time.

...and there was also a little creek between me and the house (another barrier).

It's the unpleasant atmosphere of the backstreets in the big cities - on the one hand you don't want to stay there very long because it's cold and impersonal, but then again you can't escape it's strange appeal.

Yes - it's the look of places that don't intend to be looked at!

It reminds me of riding trains or streetcars here on the east coast of the U.S., this is the view one gets of cities - the back sides of things.

Besides, as I wrote in another comment, this was taken in the city of Kassel which was bombed during WW II and almost completely destroyed. A lot of buildings are a mixture of ruins on which something new was built. It's an interesting architecture, every building has its own story to tell.

That's how Germany is looking from the backstreet. Everything's just clean and tidy on the facades.

This applies to most Germans as well.

That's what people say about Germans. But then again open-mindedness is hard to find nowadays, not just here but anywhere.
