Benedict Cumberbatch as the Angel Islington, again. I basically wanted to draw what I imagined in my head pertaining to the text above (And I've been wanting to draw that ref image for what feels like a gajillion years). It's also nice to compare it to the piece I did last year; I can definitely see some improvement. And some day I'll stop being lazy with wings. But that day is not this day.

This is Indy. Greetings from Canada!! I hope this finds you and yours well.
If Benedict were to have an official artist. it'd be you! This piece had me gasping when I brought it up to full size. I actually believe that you're one of these artist WHO DON'T have trouble drawing his face or the rest of him for that matter. Best of all, you've put him back to being a ginger!
You backed the right horse when you chose Benedict to be your Islington! The black wings are a beautiful sharp contrast to his light skin. Your take on the halo is a fresh air difference from the usual flat lighted ring that we usually see floating over an angel's head. To top it off, the expression on his face gives one the idea that he cares as to what's happening to the city below him.
I must ask though: Is Islington your own creation or is he a character from a book? I must put this in my faves gallery!!!!

Benedict definitely has a tricky face to capture. (I've tried and failed to get it quite right more times than I care to admit!) Yay! Another fan of Gingery-Benedict! And thank you, for the compliment on the halo. I started doing them this way because I always love to throw in some sparkle/glitter/starbursts when I can get away with it, and I find plain ring halos to be so boring to draw. c:
I wish he were my own creation! But unfortunately for me, that honor goes to Neil Gaiman. Islington is a character in Mr. Gaiman's urban fantasy novel: Neverwhere. Benedict actually did the voice for Islington in the radio adaptation of the novel last year, and the radio play is pretty faithful to the novel itself.
