Wow, thank you all for the kind feedback.To the one question coming up again and again:
It's a place called "ThingstΓ€tte" in Heidelberg on a mountain called "Heiligenberg" (Hollow's Mountain or something like that). It was modeled after Greek theatres, but actually built around 1934.

very cool! I love the bold shadows/dark bits in on the cobbles and blades of grass in the foreground contrasting with the hazy mist at the top of the picture. The person with the bright blue jumper as a spec in the distance adds to the photo too, it gives a sense of scale and draws the eye in. Most people take samey-photos of ampitheatres but this is ever so unique! <3

yes, there is.. I won't go into much detail, but some major things: increased the light and fog, darkened the foreground, helped the blue jacket pop.. overall contrast and standard things after that and a little overall color adjustment.

So beautiful. The contrast really ups the atmosphere in the photo, not too heavy and not too subtle either.
I think what I love is the symmetry. What I love most, is the imperfections in the stone, the figure standing a little off-center, and the transcendent glow from above. If I were in tourism, I would have bought this print up in bulk for postcards
