Yes really!! I used to think they were sweet birds too, but after I observed them for a while that they are quite agressive, all the time. I think its because doves are associated with peace and heaven, that most people think they are naturally peaceful birds.

I think its the whole thing of a dove bringing an olive branch to Moses in the ark in the bible. I don't think they'd peck your eyes out, but they're not exactly friendly either...haha.
